Bone Broth Recipe – Heals More Than the Soul
This soup can be made in a slow cooker overnight. The stock contains minerals in a form the body can absorb easily – calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, silica, sulphur, and trace minerals. It is full of gelatin, a source of proline and glycine, which will heal the gut and increase digestibility of other foods.
The recipe is simple, place bones in a slow cooker, cover with water, add 1 tsp vinegar and slow cook at a simmer.
Fish bones – cook for 4 hours
Chicken or turkey bones – cook for 8 hours
Beef bones – roast first then cook for 24 hours
Remove bones and skim fat. The soup should be gelatinous in the fridge. Consume 1/4 cup per day, and add to food. Keeps 3 days in the fridge and several months in the freezer.
